Shared expenses and paying back

One record per expense, split exactly. Repayments count once they are confirmed.

When you pay for something shared, you add one record and choose who it was for. The app splits it exactly and works out who owes whom. Splits always add up to the full amount, to the last cent.

Example: dinner for three

Dinner

ABC

€300.00

You paid

€300.00

Your share

€100.00

The others owe you

€200.00

Paying someone back
  1. 1

Pay in cash or by bank transfer, outside the app

  2. 2

Record it in the space: Record repayment

  3. 3

The person who got the money confirms it

  4. 4

    Balances update for everyone

Did you receive the money? Then you record it, and it counts right away.

Questions and answers

Someone made a mistake in a shared expense. Can I fix it?

Only the person who added a record can edit or delete it. Leave a comment on the expense so they can fix it. This keeps everyone's balance trustworthy.

Can I add an expense that someone else paid?

No. You only record your own money: “Paid by” is you or the space's fund. Each person adds what they paid.

Do expenses paid from a shared fund create debts?

No. Fund expenses never make anyone owe anybody. The split only decides whose spending they count as.

Someone says they paid me back, but they didn't. What do I do?

Decline the repayment when you are asked to confirm it. Nothing changes in the balance.

I recorded a repayment by mistake. Can I delete it?

Yes, while it is still waiting for confirmation. After it is confirmed, it stays.

Can I attach a receipt to a shared expense?

Yes. The person who added the expense attaches photos, and everyone in the space can open them.
