Your own money

Accounts hold your money; expenses, income and transfers move it. All private to you.

Your own money lives in your profile, which is private: only you see it. It is made of accounts (where money sits) and records (money going in or out).

An account is any place you keep money: a bank account, cash, a credit card, savings or a loan. There are 12 kinds, each with its own name, colour and icon. Find them in Profile → Accounts.

Questions and answers

How do I add a record?

Tap + (or Profile → Add transaction), choose the type, enter the amount, pick the account and a category, and save.

Does moving money to my savings count as spending?

No. A transfer between your own accounts is never counted as spending or income. It only moves money from one place to another.

I gave money to someone who doesn't use the app. How do I record it?

Use a Transfer and type their name. It counts under Transfers › Sent outside. Money they give you counts under Transfers › Received from outside.

My balance in the app is different from my bank. How do I fix it?

Open the account and set its balance to the real amount. The app adds an adjustment, and it is not counted as spending or income.

Can I make my own categories?

Yes, in Profile → Categories. A category can have one level of subcategories, for example Food › Groceries.

Can I add a photo of a receipt?

Yes. Open the record and attach a photo from your camera or gallery, up to 5 MB.

Can I leave an account out of my total on Home?

Yes. In the account's settings, turn off including it in the total. This is useful for a loan or an account you only watch.

Can I be warned when an account gets low?

Yes. Set a balance alert on the account. You get one notification each time the balance crosses the line you set.
